Zira is the mother of Kovu, Nuka and Vitani, the leader of The Outsiders and main antagonist in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. In Swahili, "Zira" means "hate." She was voiced by the late Suzanne Pleshette.
Appearence and Personality
Zira is a slender lioness with brown fur, a small nodge in her left ear, reddish brown eyes and a long stripe that starts at her head and runs down her back. As for her personlity she was once one of Scar's followers. So when Simba kills him (although it is The Hyenas that actually kill him) and has her and the other lionesses exiled to the outlands she is desperate for revenge asnd is one of few villains who actuially loves her family.
The Lion King II:Simba's Pride
At first Zira does not interact with the film's protagonist Kiara but she watches her with her son Kovu. She finally meets Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumbaa who says that now that they know each other to get out the pride lands but Zira insists they belong to Scar. After a while she leaves with Kovu.
As well as Kovu she is also angry with Nuka the film's secondary antagonist for not watching Kovu. After believing that what Kovu did would get revenge on Simba she puts him to sleep and trains him through his life so by the time he reaches adulthood he is now a killer however Kovu reforms and deserts Zira after Nuka's death.
War is declared on the outlanders and the Pridelanders where the Outsiders turn on Zira. There is a fight between Simba and Zira which results in Zira's death despite Kiara's attempts to help her.
