Animal Villains Wiki

Squint is a recurring antagonist of the Ice Age franchise. He's an evil and phsycopathic rabbit that is Gutt's former first mate and Manny, Sid and Diego's sworn enemy. He's a cameo antagonist in Scrat's short film Scrat's Continental Crack-up, the secondary antagonist in the fourth film of the series Ice Age: Continental Drift, one of the main antagonists of its 2013 videogame version Ice Age: Continental Drift - Arctic Games and returns as the main antagonist in the 2016 Easter TV special Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade. He's usually voiced by Aziz Ansari but in the special he's voiced by Seth Green.

Scrat's Continental Crack-up[]

Squint appears at the end of the second part of the short alongside Gutt and his other henchmen. They capture Scrat and take him aboard as a prisoner like they did with Manny, Sid and Diego and forces him to dance while Squint throws diabolically sea stars at him.

Ice Age: Continental Drift[]

Squint makes his first canonical appearance in the fourth film Ice Age: Continental Drift (as Scrat's Continental Crack-up was actually just a teaser for the film and the ending scene wasn't even included in the real film).

He first appears when Captain Gutt attacks Manny, Sid, Diego and Sid's Granny when they're stranded on an iceberg. He orders to attack the group but Shira tells him that the captain has to decide. When they attack the iceberg Squint immediately attacks Manny throwing weapons at him.

Later he's seen having fun while throwing sea stars at Scrat, that they also captured, and gets angry at Manny when he refuses to join the crew. Thus he happily agrees when Gutt orders them to throw Manny, Sid, Diego and Granny in the sea to have them eaten alive by the fish. However the group escapes and destroys the ship leaving them stranded on an iceberg as karma.

Later they arrived like Manny, Sid, Diego, Granny and Shira (that got separated from Gutt) in a tropical island and they enslave a group of Hyraxes to build them a new ship.

However they fall in a trick and Manny, Sid, Diego and Granny steals the ship with the help of some rogue Hyraxes, which causes Gutt to have a mental breakdown and to break an entire glaciar with bare hands to build a new ship. Squint is seen happy when Gutt threatens Shira to kill her when everything is finished as she betrayed them to help the Herd escape since she fell in love with Diego.

Then Gutt, Squint and the others kidnaps Manny's wife and daughter (Ellie and Peaches) and all the animals of their valley as obstajes and this causes a big battle between the Herd and Gutt's henchmen. Squint tries to stop Shira from freeing Ellie but he's squashed by Ellie herself which causes him to escape from the battle abandoning his teammates.

Ice Age: Continental Drift - Arctic Games[]

In this alternate version of the events of the film, Squint and its team finds a treasure that Manny, Sid, Diego and the Herd found first and they don't want to share it. To decide who will keep the treasure they starts a game competition: who will win will get the treasure.

Squint develops a rivalry with Squint when the latter defeats him and calls a turtle with his name to tease him.

At the end, the Herd wins and they keep the treasure despite Gutt unsuccessfully tried to take it anyway with Shira stopping him. After their failure, they all come back to the sea and differently from the film Shira dosen't leave the crew and dosen't join the Herd.

Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade[]

After having been squashed by Ellie, Squint escaped and presumably after having healed he came back to home that reveals to be the same valley where the Herd now resides after their home was destroyed by the continental drift. He now lives with his mother and his bumbling and lazy twin brother Clint.

When he sees Manny, Sid and Diego he decides to have his revenge and tries to blackmail them to build him a new ship by hiding all the eggs Sid was babysitting.

When the Herd finds all the eggs Squint reveals that he didn't include Eithel's egg in the map in order to have something to use to blackmail them.

However he gets tricked to go in an ambush where Diego attacks him and they have a fight for the egg when it falls due to Scrat.

Squint gets defeated by Sid and falls in a Crash and Eddie's April fools trap. Then he tries to use Scrat's bucket as a ship but it sinks, much to his horror.

It's currently unknown what happened to him after this; he could have died drowned or he could have simply swimmed towards river only for coming back to home with yet another failure.

  • He's the only Ice Age villain so far to appear in more than one media or film , with the exception of Rudy.
